Well, what is this blog about…?
I spent a lot of time blogging and writing on social networks, blogs and newspapers during the last years and I noticed that there are still lots of misinformation and misunderstandings when it comes to “European-American” lifestyles, views and politics.
The media in the US is not really helpful, in fact some media channels are nothing more than “propaganda channels” and they are constantly spreading false information or just the half-truth about our way of life.
So I thought it might be helpful if I try to write about some facts in regard to history, politics and our life in general, our hopes and dreams and I am sure, we have more in common than people think.
I noticed that many people in the US don’t know about the details which led to WWII for example or are confused about the real meanings in regard to Socialism, Comunism, Stalinism etc. or don’t know about our culture, how we grew up, what we learned from our history and so on.
And in contrast many Europeans don’t really know about the American lifestyle and history and their political system.
I believe that only this “exchange” of thoughts can lead to a better understanding.
I have many American friends as well as an American boyfriend, so I learned a lot during the last years.
Btw. there exist not only misinformation and misunderstandings in European-American relations but also when it comes to the Middle East, Iran, Israel and all the other countries in this world…
Often we don’t realize that we fear that what we don’t know… you know the fear of the unknown and the only way to “overcome” this is… knowledge.

Some short details about myself
I’m 44, mother of two sons and I was an independent writer/co-writer for a couple of years in Germany. Besides that I’m just a simple girl, no lady ;P trying to do my best.
I have many different interests, but I love writing. I try to write a book about religion and politics and I love it to debate…
I believe in science because science is not just a belief, it is the will to find out, it is organized common sense where some beautiful theories were killed by ugly facts – just as houses are made of stones, so is science made of facts – and WE see only what we know! Consequently our view and belief is dependend on our knowledge… it is that simple!
That’s why I see “life” as a neverending process of learning.
I also belief in the ethic of journalism – to seek truth and report it. No matter how ugly the truth might be, it has to be reported. Real journalism is also the will to find out and sometimes our own beautiful “theories” or beliefs are killed by ugly facts, but that is what journalism is about….
I believe in God, I just spell it nature.
I also believe that our background may have influenced who we are but that we are responsible for who we become.
Besides my beliefs I love people with humor and those who can laugh at themselves. Life is hard enough.

Maybe it is possible to solve some of these “worlwide misunderstandings” – in the end we all share the same planet and it would be nice if we all were able to “swim” side by side, no matter how different we are.

And a last note… no matter what I write, it is not my intention to judge, who am I to do so. I would like to start a conversation and hope that in the course of time people feel comfortable enough to participate…
